1. To coordinate, promote and spearhead progressive development to boost domestic consumption and become integrated into the global value chain;
     

  2. To be the collective and cohesive voice of the industry in Malaysia and facilitate local & international activities (including export) of its members;
     

  3. To act as a focal consultation point between government and its related agencies in policy advocacy, formulating strategies, incentives and strategic programme recommendations regarding issues that hamper the growth of the industry;
     

  4. To encourage Malaysia designers to capitalize on their talent to undertake own-design. Alongside working towards implementing into higher value-added activities such as own branding, product planning and marketing;
     

  5. To promote the collection and circulation of fashion, textile & apparel statistics and other information relating to the fashion, textile and apparels industries, science and commerce and publication of literary fashion, textile and apparels works as may seem appropriate;
     

  6. To promote and assist in the promotions and conduct of the related exhibitions including monetary, gifts, prizes, medals, industry recognition and other awards;
     

  7. To hasten the growth and progress of the fashion, textile & apparel industry in the region through joint collaborations, endeavours and action;
     

  8. To mediate wherever possible differences between members and to act as arbitrators whenever required;
     

  9. To promote closer relations and cooperation between and among the fashion, textile, and apparels business communities in Malaysia;
     

  10. To maintain close relations and cooperation with regional and internal organizations with similar aims and objectives; and
     

  11. To formulate recommendations on incentives, tariffs, and other forms of protection for identified projects and commodities.
